We wrapped up elk hunting this weekend with a guest appearance from Tom. The elk seemed to have blown out of the country. We didn't see a fresh track all weekend. But the camp food was great: pad thai, beef stew, Starbucks coffee. In other news, my essay, "A Degree in Ducks" is out in Gray's and I'm getting letters from people around the country. My brother, who still goes to Dr. Cooke, took the photo below. Dr. Cooke doesn't say much, so we'll never really know what he thinks of being written about. I think he'll like the way I describe him. The annual Casper College English Department Pheasant Hunt will be held next weekend in Torrington, with Professor Bill Mixer (retired) officiating the pre-hunt festivities and auction at Garcia's Cantina.
