My old college buddy Jason Keel from Virginia Tech has discovered fly-fishing. At 48, he's not the oldest newbie I've ever met. But let's just say he took his time getting around to it. He did the opposite of what I did; he went out and made his money then turned to fishing, which is sure to cost him everything if he gets hooked. I began fishing hard at 25 and am still waiting to make my money.I squandered my chances in the board room and spent them on the Plains Lake just out of Laramie. Keel is talking seriously of coming to Wyoming in the fall or spring for some rainbows. And though I find the guide and his beard (trucker hat too) to be a cliche among cliches, it looks like they had fun casting whatever they were casting on this yet to be named river in Utah or New Mexico. Keel is horrible with details. He'll have to get better at that if he wants to become a true fisherman.
