The North Platte River remains off-color. I went a few times last week and was discouraged when I drove over Government Bridge and looked down at the water. But the trout are biting. We used leeches, rock worms and Ray Charles. The Ray Charles--left--is a sow bug imitation made famous on the Big Horn. But it works well on the North Platte too. I don't know why. I've seen scuds in the Platte, but never sow bugs. I think these flies show up well in dirty water. We used them in pink, tan, and flash back.
