I just returned form Homer, Alaska where I attended the Kachemak Bay Writer's Conference. It was great and I generated a bunch of new ideas for essays. I stayed a few days over and went out for halibut and king salmon. I'll post more later, but the weather was in the 80s a couple times and it was beautiful. King salmon are fish that you have to respect. The two smaller ones at the bottom were caught off the Spit by casting a lure from a rod and reel I borrowed from a friend. These fish are sushi quality. This is the best fish you can get anywhere, in my opinion.
