It's hot out West, 90 plus degrees everyday as far as I can see into July and August. I took Henderson to High Hopps Brewery in Windsor, CO for a refreshing IPA. He didn't care for the music, but likes beer of any sort. I attended the OWAA conference in Billings. A bunch of outdoor writers and various conservation-minded activists got together to discuss public land access, outdoor writing, and the stupendously stupid idea of transferring public lands over to the various, hard-up states that may or may not sell your favorite elk hunting spot away to the highest bidder. Even Henderson thinks that's a dumb idea, and he still craps in the house. In other news, my essay on hunting pheasants is out in Gray's bird hunting edition. The folks at Gray's did a great job with the layout and illustrations.
